NEW YORK - Operating System (OS) Ubuntu will be available for smartphone devices, Canonical has signaled officials will release the operating system later this year, but to date, the company asks the user to be patient to wait.

Reported by the CIO (05/06/2012), Global Marketing Manager at Canonical, John Barnard says, "Canonical will make an announcement to the Ubuntu OS smartphone soon landed at the end of this year, the company currently is developing the operating system to OS devices."

However, when talking about the launch of the operating system, Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth said, "maybe, but we will not be revealed when the exact date of launch."

Barnard response to Shuttleworth's comments, he said "Ubuntu OS for smartphones possible release next year, but we're not sure when the launch date."

"All kinds of the Ubuntu operating system for smartphones will not be available for download, but will be available directly on the smartphone. We also will not provide detailed information about the operating system. Currently, we are asking a lot of corporate parties to wait until the official release of the operating system later this year, "said Barnard.

After consuming a long time, Canonical finally announced the Ubuntu operating system developed for mobile phones and tablet last year. An earlier version of Ubuntu is available for smartphones, but will not be available for desktop and server versions of OS.

Through the Computex trade show, Canonical Ubuntu signaled readiness to incorporate a version of the smartphone with the Android OS. In addition, the company also showed a smartphone that can run two operating systems at once, which is running the Android and Ubuntu side by side.
